Cornerstone Christian School began in the fall of 1984. The school first met at the First Baptist Church in Papillion, Nebraska, and then moved to Calvary Christian Church in Bellevue. As the school continued to grow, CCS moved to Thanksgiving Lutheran Church in the fall of 2001. The school has grown to 126 students, kindergarten through the tenth grade (K-10).
Cornerstone Christian School is an approved school through the Nebraska Department of Education and a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. All teachers hold a state of Nebraska teaching certificate and have a strong commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and His children.
Cornerstone Christian School is a discipleship school committed to the academic, spiritual, and social growth of each student. Our students receive an excellent education in all academic subjects along with instruction in vocal and instrumental music, art, technology, and physical education. Emphasis is placed on developing a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and a Biblical worldview. Students receive daily Bible instruction, attend weekly chapel services, and participate in service projects for the community.
Cornerstone Christian School has an outstanding history of student achievement and most students test one and a half to two grades above the national norm on the standardized tests. Our students have great academic success as they move on to area high schools.
Cornerstone Christian School has great parent participation through volunteerism. The school is a board-organized and maintained school; the board consists of parents and community members. Parents volunteer and assist in the lunch room, serve as classroom aides, drive for field trips, coach athletic teams, and serve on various committees such as the marketing committee and the Parent-Teacher Fellowship.
