1. Do we have before and/or after school care?
Cornerstone Christian School offers Cougar Care, which is an after-school program. The program is from the 3:20 dismissal until 5:30 pm. Cougar Care offers homework time, crafts, physical activity, and computer activities. |
2. What curriculum do we use?
The curriculum used at Cornerstone Christian School is the ABecka curriculum. English curriculum that is used is the Shirley Method. |
3. Do we offer scholarships?
Cornerstone Christian School participates in the Children's Scholarship Fund that helps families finance Christian education for their children. An application form is available in the school office and applications are due by April 1st. |
4. What are the school hours?
School hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Cougar Care begins at school dismissal and is available until 5:30 p.m. |
5. Do we offer 1/2 day Kindergarten? Three day Kindergarten?
Cornerstone Christian School offers a five-day all-day kindergarten program. The curriculum is enriched through music, physical education, and art classes. A rest-time is scheduled each afternoon and active learning is an important part of the school day.

6. Do we offer hot lunch?
A hot lunch entree is available for purchase every Wednesday. This is vendor supplied entree. The office must be notified by Friday to purchase a hot entree, or you may be placed on a permanent hot lunch list if you wish. You may also purchase a hot lunch entree with cash. Milk tickets are available to purchase milk every school day. Students have the choice between chocolate, strawberry and white milk. Milk may also be purchased with cash. |
7. How do we pick up our child(ren) after school?
Each family is assigned a pick-up number. Display that number in the lower right front window of your vehicle. Your child(ren) will be called to the door and escorted to your vehicle. Many Cornerstone families carpool. Both families in the carpool will be assigned a carpool number and the family picking up will display their number in the lower right front window. All the students in the carpool number will be escorted to the vehicle by a Cornerstone Christian School teacher. |
8. Do we offer extra-curricular activities?
Yes! Cornerstone Christian School currently offers track and field in middle school. Cornerstone Christian School will be offering more extracurricular activities in the future. |
9. Do we offer speech therapy and/or resources?
Speech therapy and resources are provided by the school district that the family resides in. Cornerstone Christian School welcomes these services and providers for our students into the school. |
10. Do we have a school nurse?
Yes! Alegent Health Systems provides a school nurse to Cornerstone Christian School. The nurse is present in school one day per week and is available for emergencies by cell phone. |
11. Which local school schedule do we follow?
Cornerstone Christian School follows its own individualized calendar plan. Please contact the school office for a copy of the current school calendar. |
12. Do we have a pre-school?
Cornerstone Christian School does not have a pre-school, but TLC Pre-school is located on the same campus as Cornerstone. |
13. What grades do we go up to?
Cornerstone Christian School provides quality education for kindergarten through the eighth grade. |
14. Are we planning on offering High School?
The CCS school board has announced a new vision and strategic plan which includes the addition of a high school. The high school program will be established with a Christian worldview and academic excellence as its foundation. An athletic and arts program will also be offered. At this time, the school board and administration anticipate beginning with a 9th grade and each year adding a grade. The opening date will be announced soon. |
15. Do we offer an electronic payment option?
No. We do not offer automatic payment withdrawals at this time. |
